The Sainik School Admissions will be done through the AISSEE Exam 2022. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Admission notification for All India Sainik School Entrance Exam AISSEE 2022 for Classes 6th and 9th on 27 September 2021. All India Sainik School Entrance Exam AISSEE 2022-23: Guidelines
NTA will be conducting the AISSEE 2022 for admission to Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across the country, for the academic year 2022-23. The AISSEE 2022 Admission guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency have the same as the previous year. 15% of seats are reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 27% seats are for Other backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer (OBC-NCL). Who Can Apply For Sainik School Admission 2022-23?
Both Boys and Girls can apply for Class 6th Admission but only Boys can apply for Class 9th Admission. Below mentioned are the minimum and maximum age limits and educational qualifications required for Sainik School Admission 2022.
ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN AISSEE 2022: Age Limit & Educational Criteria
For Admission to Class VI:
- A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as of 31 March 2022 for admission to Class VI for the academic year 2022-23 i.e. the candidate should have been born between 01 April 2010 and 31 March 2012 (both days inclusive).
- Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria are the same as boys. Students should have passed the Class V exam from a recognized school at the time of admission
For Admission to Class IX:
- A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as of 31 March 2021, for admission to Class IX for the academic year 2022-23. i.e the candidate should have been born between 01 April 2007 and 31 March 2009 (both days inclusive). Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.
- Students should have passed the Class VIII exam from a recognized school at the time of admission.
Sainik School Admission 2022-23: Reservation Criteria
67% of the seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in the State/ UT where the Sainik School is located. 33% of the seats are reserved for candidates from the Other States and Union Territories(UT). Within each Category of Home State/ UT and Other States/ UT quota, seats will be reserved on the following lines mentioned below:

Thus, 49.50% of the seats in Sainik School are reserved on the above-mentioned lines. Sainik School Class 6 & 9 Admission 2022-23 Qualifying Marks
A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools if he/ she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of the exam and 40% marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE 2022. However, admission will be based on the relative merit (in AISSEE) of the candidate in his/ her category in the school opted by him/ her, medical fitness, and verification of requisite documents.
However, no minimum marks are prescribed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. Candidates will be admitted on the basis of merit at the AISSEE 2022 Entrance Examination within their respective categories, followed by a medical fitness test and verification of documents.

Merit List of All India Sainik School Entrance Exam 2022
The Final Merit List will be released after the Medical test on the NTA official website i.e. www.aissee.nta.nic.in on the month of March 2022 (tentative). Final Merit List contains the class-wise and category-wise roll numbers of candidates. In case the total marks scored by two or more candidates in AISSEE 2022 are equal, the inter-se merit shall be determined as follows:
